A Day in the Life of a Third Grader
Storm sounded a little upset when I picked him up from school yesterday. He said, "mom something really really bad happened today". Storm is a very serious child and he does not like for anyone to know his business. He would not tell me what happened, he said it would have to wait until we were alone. All kinds of thoughts were running through my head. Was he in trouble, he has never gotten in trouble at school. Did he get in a fight I had no idea.
Before bedtime when all was quiet he said "mom, you know Sarah, the red head in my class that likes me". I said "yes" and he went on to remind me how they were boyfriend and girlfriend in kindergarten. (she kissed him on the cheek) Well now in third grade three years later Sarah thinks Storm is still her boyfriend. He didn't tell her otherwise so whats a girl to think. Storm likes a little girl named Callie. Apparently someone told Sarah. Storm looked at me with his serious little face and said "mom, when she found out about Callie she threatened to break my arm". Of all the bad things running through my mind that is what happened yesterday. I could not hold in the laughter, I thought his little story was so funny. He was so serious about the situation.
I had to document this , he will get a kick out of it ten years from now.
