Weekly Recap

Storm won the Bust Bee Award for the month of September. Busy Bees are respectful, responsible and ready to learn. They are usually rewarded with a bookmark and a pencil and their picture is posted in the hallway.  A few posts ago I mentioned that that Haley was also given the Busy Bee Award.

I spent a lot of time decluttering our house this week. We took a load of old toys, tricycle, and clothes to Goodwill. I'm so glad to to have that junk outta here.

Thursday was preschool storytime out at the school. Talon was in a terrible mood. I think he may be getting sick.  I had a nice little chat with the librarian. She hopes to do more with the preschoolers this year. She even mentioned some local field trips. That would be great.  During arts and crafts we made worms and then read Wiggly Worms". We snacked on animal crackers and juice. Talon checked out his first library book "Horton Hatches the Eggs," I hope we can keep it in one piece until next Thursday. Overall we had a great time.

Did I mention Talon has been in a terrible mood. I was thinking maybe since he's turning three in a week  he's trying to end the terrible twos with a bang. Although he is feeling a little bad, everyone around here is having terrible allergies.

Haley's soccer practice is going well, although I think she may be getting a little bored with it. She's too nice on the field, she lets the other kids take her ball.She is interested in cheerleading but it is too late to sign up. Storm has decided he wants to play soccer and of course its too late for that also.  Hopefully next season everyone will know what they want to do.

I went to Wal-Mart to order Talon's cake. I found this awesome Spongebob cake . Turns out the cake is $40. So totally not worth it. For the past couple of years I have been baking their birthday cakes, just something I love to do. But since we will be out of town for his birthday, I was going to buy one. I want the cake to be special not just a sheet cake with a topper. I guess I might be baking it after all. We'll see.

I saw an old friend in Wal-Mart a few days ago. I think that is where I bump into everybody. We were best friends in middle school.  Hopefully we can get together soon. It made me think of some of my past friends that I haven't seen in like ten years. I am thinking about calling a few.

One more week until our mini vacation and Talon's party. We are having a Spongebob party out on the beach. I will be posting something special next week for his birthday, I just have to find time to work on it.

I baked brownies last night for hubby's students. They really enjoyed the treat, I think i will do it more often.  Especially during the holidays.
